Product / Application Manager for US Rail

Senceive wireless remote condition monitoring technology is used in 35 countries in rail, construction and mining. Our precise, reliable and robust products are built to empower clients responsible for high value and at-risk assets. Senceive users installed more than 30,000 sensors last year – helping them manage ground and structural movement, landslide risk, geotechnical behaviour, rail track movement and much more. Systems are installed in minutes and last more than a decade with minimal maintenance – helping users to mitigate engineering risk without visiting site.

 

We’ve been designing, building and supporting the best wireless condition monitoring technology since 2005. As part of the Previan group of companies we are growing fast and have highly ambitious plans for the coming years.

 

The Role

We are seeking the right individual to join our Product Management team.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with Customer Support, Sales, Marketing and Operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager also ensures that the product/service supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Specifically, the requirement for this role is to drive Product development and applications within the North American rail sector to support the growth and scalability of Senceive within this market.

 

  1. Reporting, Location & Travel
  2. This role reports to the Head of Product Management. Although based from home, the role will require frequent national and international travel, in order to meet customers and support product deployment.

  2. Key Responsibilities
  3. The role is focused on the Rail Sector and therefore all responsibilities are focused around this market. Responsibilities include, although are not limited to the following:
  • Develops current and future product line strategies for responsible product lines
  • Determines customer and market needs and gather market intelligence regarding operators, competitors, prospects and industry needs within the rail sector
  • Develops business cases, including revenue / margin forecasts and User Requirements, for new product and service offerings based on market research and intelligence
  • Manages existing product lines through entire product lifecycle ensuring company revenue and margin goals are achieved for responsible product lines and provides short and long term forecasts
  • Obtains and analyses relevant market data to determine product market share and other key metrics
  • Supports Sales as a Technical Expert attending customer meetings, facilitating trainings, and regularly providing product and services updates
  • Supports the development of case studies, white papers, conference papers, and success stories
  • Liaisons with Marketing for presentations, brochures, documentation, videos and other communications as needed
  • Works with and supports the product development teams ensuring new products deliver on market needs / user requirements and existing products remain differentiated in the market
  • Leads and manages product launches by developing time-integrated plans with Technical Development (R&D), Marketing (including Branding), Sales, and Operations
  • Develops pricing strategies and Go-to-Market plans for responsible product lines

Relevant Knowledge & Experience

  2. Candidates should assess their suitability against the following essential and/or desirable relevant knowledge and experience:

  • Solid, demonstrable experience working within the North American Rail Sector with detailed knowledge around maintenance and management techniques
  • Experience and a clear understanding of Instrumentation and Monitoring (or Survey) techniques within the North American Rail Sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Surveying or similar (or demonstration of equivalent experience within this field)
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint and Teams

  • Experience or exposure to sales/marketing roles
  • Strong connections to one or more of the Class 1 railroads in the North American market
